The International Office organized foreign teachers to go to Xinyang City, an old revolutionary base area, to carry out research and practice activities on the theme of “Exploring the footprints of Revolutionary History” from April 8 to 9.
The foreign teachers’ research and practice team went to study and experience on site to the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Revolution Memorial Hall in Xinyang, Pingqiao Haotang Village in Xinyang, as well as the Xinyang Guangyi Maojian Tea Garden, which was awarded to Li Guangyi, the fourth generation inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of Xinyang Maojian traditional handmade tea.
In the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Revolutionary Memorial Hall, in front of thousands of text pictures and hundreds of objects, the foreign teachers heard about the stories of the Chinese revolution, and had an in-depth understanding of the major historical events that happened in the land of Hubei-Henan-Anhui in various stages of China from the Great Revolution to the Liberation War. In Haotang Village, the foreign teachers witnessed with their own eyes the modern landscape of the Chinese countryside and the great changes brought about by the implementation of the “poverty alleviation” policy of the Chinese government. At Li Guangyi Tea Base, foreign teachers heard about the origin and development of Chinese tea culture, tea classification, production techniques and health benefits, visited tea picking and traditional manual tea making processes, and went to tea gardens for tea picking experiences.
