On May 20, a delegation headed by Fan Zhihui, Deputy Director from the Environmental Protection Department of the South-to-North Water Diversion Office under the Sate Council, made an inspection tour of the Collaborative Innovation Center on Water Security of Water Source Areas in the Middle Route Scheme of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project at NYNU, accompanied by President Wang Liya, Vice President Kan Yunchao and Vice President Ma Liangquan. Related officials from the South-to-North Water Diversion Office of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Henan as well as National Development and Reform Commission were also on the tour.

After inspecting the Collaborative Innovation Center on Water Security and the Key Laboratory on Water Ecological Security of Water Source Areas in the Middle Route Scheme of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project at NYNU, Fan Zhihui expressed his appreciation of the achievements made by the research center, gave positive remarks on research orientation, collaborative resource, research capability and productive outcome of the Center, stressed that the study on water quality protection of the water source areas was time-consuming and of great importance, expecting that more innovative achievements and desirable contributions could be made in the near future.
