On
May 8, The First National Symposium on Applied Mathematics and Cold Regions
Water Science was held in Nanyang Normal University. It was sponsored by the
Hydraulics Committee of the Chinese Hydraulic
Engineering Society and organized by Nanyang Normal
University. More than 50 experts and scholars attended the conference from
Innovation Academy for Precision Measurement Science and Technology, Dalian
University of Technology, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research,
Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research, Beijing Institute of Technology,
Polar Research Institute of China and other research institutions and
colleges. President Zhang Baofeng and vice president Luo Yongsong attended
the opening ceremony.
The
theme was Integration of Applied Mathematics and Water Science in Cold
Regions, and Promotion of Interdisciplinary Integration. During the
conference, nearly 20 experts and scholars gave reports on the current academic
frontiers in mathematics, water science, water engineering and geographical
mapping, and carried out in-depth academic exchanges and discussions. The
successful holding of the symposium will effectively promote the docking and
integration of applied mathematics, statistics, water science, geographic
surveying and mapping science and similar disciplines, help promote the
application of mathematical theories and methods and surveying and mapping
science and technology in solving practical problems, and provide useful
scientific reference for solving relevant problems at home and abroad.
