On the afternoon of March 5, International Office (School of International Education) organized the first class in the new semester for international students in Room 228 of the Science and Technology Building in order to fulfill the requirements of the new semester in the light of the epidemic prevention and control. Cui Lei, Section Chief of Exit and Entry Administration Department of Nanyang Public Security Bureau, Li Hongwei, Police Officer, and Yang Tian and Wang Guangqi from International Office were invited to give lectures. Relevant staff of International Office and all international students on campus attended the event. It was presided over by Wang Zhiping, Deputy Director of International Office.

First, Li Hongwei interpreted the regulations on The Administration of Entry and Exit of Foreigners and other relevant laws and regulations. Li stressed that international students should do two things well when studying in China: behavior management and time management. Behavior management means that all behaviors must abide by Chinese laws and regulations and respect Chinese customs. Time management is to pay attention to whether their visa or residence permit expires and to handle it on time, otherwise they will face punishment or even be expelled. Li pointed out that international students should not engage in illegal work or business activities during their studies in China, whether intentionally or not. Cui Lei said, we welcome every student to come to study in China for afar and you may turn to the police when in need. At the same time every student should pay attention to personal and property safety, and prevent all kinds of network telecom fraud.

Then, Yang Tian explained the scholarship management measures of Nanyang Normal University, including categories and sources of scholarship, scholarship criteria and application conditions, scholarship evaluation process and scholarship distribution management. Wang Guangqi introduced the high quality development of international student recruitment and training in our university, and explained the three aspects of international student recruitment publicity, talent training and daily management services.

Finally, international students communicated with the four lecturers on some questions and doubts.
