On the morning of June 9, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Central African Republic in China Behena and his delegation visited NYNU. The meeting was held in the east conference room on the first floor of the Office Building. Li Chunpeng, Secretary-general of the Nanyang People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Chen Mengyu, Director of the Foreign Affairs Management Section of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Nanyang Municipal Committee, Zhang Baofeng, President of our school, and Liu Honglin, Vice President, attended the meeting. Heads of relevant units of our school attended. The meeting was chaired by Liu Honglin.
Zhang Baofeng welcomed Behena, Minister Counsellor William Nathan, and Ulrike Axel, Inspector General of Secondary Education (Mathematics). He briefly introduced the basic situation of our school and its achievements in international education, and said that our school was willing to provide support for the educational development of the Central African Republic within its capacity, and sincerely invited teachers and students from the Central African Republic to come to our school for exchange and study.
Behena expressed the hope to carry out educational cooperation with our school and strengthen exchanges in teacher training and student exchanges. He noted that the CAR embassy in China would play the role of a bridge to facilitate the implementation of the cooperation between the two schools as soon as possible and contribute to the educational contribution of the friendly exchanges between the CAR and China. With the vision of friendly cooperation and joint development, the two sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Educational Cooperation between Nanyang Normal University and the Embassy of the Central African Republic in China.
Later, the delegation, accompanied by Liu Honglin, visited the Teacher Development Center of our school, the Han Culture Museum and the Jade Culture Museum.
