On the morning of March 30, an exchange symposium between NYNU and the University of Cumbria from the United Kingdom was held in the West Conference Room on the second floor of the Office Building. Vice president Liu Hongling and a four-member delegation, including Yang Xiaohong, Asia-Pacific director of the University of Cumbria, and Hua Hongyu, Chinadirector, presented the meeting. The meeting was attended by heads of the Office of the President, the School of History, the School of Physics and the Electronic Engineering, the School of Physical Education, the School of Water and Environmental Engineering and the International Office. The meeting was chaired by Cao Luman, director of the International Office.

Liu Honglin welcomed the delegation from the University of Cumbria on behalf of the university. He introduced the basic situation of NYNU and the status quo of its international development, and pointed out that both sides should carry out the cooperation intention in detail through multi-level and all-round exchanges, promote the international development of the university in an all-round way, and contribute the foreign affairs force of the University to the regional economic and social development.

Yang Xiaohong introduced the leading disciplines at the University of Cumbria and expressed her confidence in future cooperation with NYNU.

Cao Luman analyzed the cooperation path between the two universities in terms of discipline building, teacher-student training and international platforms, hoping that the two universities could promote joint training of undergraduate, master and doctoral talents by building high-level international cooperation and exchange platforms.

Heads of the relevant schools made constructive suggestions based on the specific conditions of the schools.

After the meeting, representatives of the University of Cumbria, accompanied by staff from the International Office, toured the Exhibition Hall.

Yang Xiaohong explained the advantages of the University of Cumbria’s specialties, project types, application materials and more in the Roadshow Room 4203 of the Western Innovation Space, and answered questions from the participants.
