About us
School of Marxism was established in September, 2015 by merging the original Department of Ideological and Political Education and School of Politics and Public Administration. The school undertakes the teaching of public compulsory courses on ideological and political theory for undergraduates and graduates of the whole university and the teaching of three undergraduate bachelor programs: Ideological and Political Education, Public Affairs Management and Public Administration. Also, it shoulders the tasks to conduct research on Marxism theories and offer social services. With years of construction and development, the school has become an important base for both the implementation of ideological and political education at the university and Marxism research.

1. Bachelor in Ideological and Political Education
This program aims to provide students with mastery of basic knowledge in Ideological and Political Education, develop their spirit of innovation and higher quality on politics and morality, make them have strong learning ability and social adaptability and prepare them to become professionals in schools.
Duration: four-year program
Credits: A minimum of 165 credits is required.
Degree awarded: Bachelor of Laws

2. Bachelor in Public Affairs Management
This program aims to help students master basic knowledge in modern management theories, skills and methods, develop their spirit of innovation, make them have strong learning ability and social adaptability and prepare them to become professionals in the public sectors such as schools, communities and social insurance.
Duration: four-year program
Credits: A minimum of 165 credits is required.
Degree awarded: Bachelor of Management

3. Bachelor in Public Administration
This program aims to help students master basic knowledge in modern public administration theories, skills and methods, develop their spirit of innovation, make them have strong learning ability and social adaptability and prepare them to become professionals in the public sectors such as party and government offices, enterprises and public institutions and social organizations.
Duration: four-year program
Credits: A minimum of 165 credits is required.

Faculty
School of Marxism has a group of teachers with positive and progressive attitudes and diversified professional backgrounds. At present, there are fifty-four teachers in total, including seven professors, twelve associate professors and twenty-five lecturers. Eighteen faculty members have Ph.D.s from top Chinese or international universities.

Research
Based on the investigation of local economy and culture, the school has established research institute for Feng Youlan (modern renowned Chinese philosopher and philosophical historian who did systematic research of Taoism and absorbed the research into his philosophical system) Philosophical Thinking and the institute for Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese characteristics. For long, the school has attached great importance to the mutual promotion of teaching and researching. Since 2011, it has undertaken three research projects subsidized by National Philosophy and Social Science Foundation of China, three projects of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, over twenty projects of Philosophy and Social Science Foundation of Henan, published more than 150 academic papers, including sixty published in national and international leading academic journals, and won over 10 scientific research awards at and above university level.
