Introduction to the Lecturer: Guo Xi is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Jinan University, Founding Director of the Overseas Chinese Language Research Center of the State Language Commission, and Editor-in-Chief of Language Strategy Research. His main research areas include sociolinguistics, applied linguistics, modern Chinese, and overseas Chinese language. He is the author of Chinese Sociolinguistics and Studies on Overseas Chinese Language, editor-in-chief of Report on the State of Language Life in China and Global Chinese Grammar (Malaysia Volume), and has published over 200 papers in linguistics and language teaching.
