[Lecture] Reflections on Mathematical Problems in Ice Research

Introduction to the speaker: Li Zhijun, Professor and doctoral supervisor at the State Key Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering, Dalian University of Technology. Currently he serves as the director of the Sea Ice and Freshwater Ice Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Glaciology, the deputy director of the Sea Ice Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Oceanography, and the deputy director of the Hydraulics Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Hydropower Engineering. His main research areas include the physical and mechanical properties of ice, cold region engineering environmental conditions, and polar science and technology research. He has participated in 14 scientific expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic. He has now led and completed more than 20 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Ministry of Science and Technology. His research team has published over 400 related academic papers. The main doctoral student training directions are port, coastal, and offshore engineering in water conservancy engineering; and operations research and control theory in mathematics.
