
On May 14, 2026, at the invitation of the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering, Professor Li Hai from the Civil Aviation University of China visited NYNU to deliver an academic lecture titled Airborne Weather Radar Signal Processing in Conference Room 241 of the Science and Technology Building. Faculty and student representatives from related research fields attended the lecture and engaged in academic exchanges.
Professor Li systematically presents his team’s research achievements in the field of single-antenna and phased-array antenna airborne weather radar. Focusing on simulation technologies for meteorological targets such as turbulence, wind shear, and precipitation, he explains core techniques including turbulence and low-altitude wind shear detection, ground clutter suppression, and shares research progress on utilizing polarization information for the detection and classification of precipitation particles, hail, and ice crystals.
The lecture was logically rigorous, addressed cutting-edge developments in radar signal processing and aviation engineering, and offered both theoretical depth and practical value. During the interactive session, faculty and students asked questions on radar technology, signal processing algorithms, and research topic selection, all of which Professor Li answered thoroughly. Participating faculty also discussed academic exchange, research collaboration, and joint graduate training.
This lecture represents the university’s ongoing effort to build a high-level academic platform, foster a robust academic atmosphere, and advance disciplinary development. It broadened the academic perspectives of faculty and students, inspired research ideas, and injected new momentum into consolidating disciplinary directions, nurturing research teams, and deepening inter-institutional collaboration.
