On the morning of October 30th, at the invitation of the School of Chemistry and Pharmacy Engineering, Professor He Junpo from Fudan University gave an academic report titled Precision Synthesis of Polymers. Li Bo, dean of the School, Xing Xiaojing, vice dean, representatives of the faculty, and graduate students attended the report meeting. The report meeting was chaired by Xing Xiaojing.

Professor He Junpo first introduced the basic concepts of polymers and their chain structure information, emphasizing that understanding chain structure is crucial for the precise synthesis of polymers. Then, he detailed the types and principles of living polymerization and shared the synthesis methods of block copolymers, hyperbranched polymers, and dendrimers, elucidating the cutting-edge technologies in the field of polymer synthesis in a clear and concise manner. At the same time, combining his teams exploration and achievements in the field, he discussed the synthesis technology of precise sequence polymers and their application examples in production and daily life, and proposed prospects for the development of polymer science, which inspired the teachers and students present. After the meeting, Professor He Junpo answered the questions raised by the teachers and students present.

Professor He Junpo possesses profound knowledge and a broad vision and his report is rich in content. This report helps our school’s teachers and students to broaden their academic horizons, inspire innovative thinking, enhance scientific research literacy, and further promote academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation both inside and outside the school.
