On the afternoon of June 26th, Professor Liu Haiyong from the China Academy of Art was invited to give an academic report titled The Freehand Painting System of Chinese Painting and the Way of Its Inheritance. The report was presided over by Cao Tiancheng, Dean of the School of Arts and Design. More than 200 representatives of  teachers and students attended.

In the report, Professor Liu Haiyong summarized the freehand painting system of Chinese painting from five aspects: imagery, aesthetics, inheritance, legal principles, and practice. He systematically explored the way of Chinese painting transmission from the construction of the two ends and three in one talent training model of Chinese painting, the optimization of the recruitment and curriculum system of Chinese painting, and finally summarized the beauty of freehand brushwork in Chinese painting and the ways of contemporary Chinese painting creation and global dissemination from the aspects of artistic imagery and artistic expression. He pointed out that in the current creation of Chinese painting, it is necessary to grasp the issues of Qi Yun (spirit and rhyme), perception, and teaching and nurturing to achieve a comprehensive understanding of art and theory, to create new masterpieces of Chinese painting, and at the same time to grasp the essence of Chinese painting, to take classical philosophy as the foundation and spread Chinese painting to the world. During the interactive session, Professor Liu Haiyong answered the teachers and students questions .

Professor Liu Haiyongs report this time is rich in content, highly forward-looking and expansive. It not only provides valuable academic nourishment for the teachers and students present, but also plays an active role in refining the direction of high-level scientific research and creative work in the School of Arts and Art Design, as well as in the construction of professional disciplines.
