On July 20th, School of International Education of NYNU participated in the Fourth Chinese Classics Reciting, Writing and Speaking Competition. Two works won the first prize and the third prize respectively in International Students Group. In the meantime, NYNU got the Award for Excellent Organization. The work winning the first prize is An Epigraph of my Humble Home (Loushiming), in which four students, Jokhio Sair Muhammad (Hao Shuai) from Pakistan, Akter Nipa (Li Ni) from Bangladesh, Muhammet Berdiyev (A Zha De) and Merjen Mammedova (Mei Zhen) from Turkmenistan participated. The work winning the third prize is Snow, to the Tune of Qin Yuan Chun (Qinyuanchun Xue) by Satu Chma (Fen Zhong) from Bangladesh. Wang Guangqi and Yang Tian, two teachers from School of International Education, were awarded Best Instructors. Since receiving the notice of the competition in April, leaders of School of International Education had attached great importance to the event and actively mobilized the international students to participate in the competition to promote learning. Teachers were invited to provide relevant guidance and training. After nearly two months of practice, students from School of International Education presented their best performances in the competition.
This event was a test of the teaching quality in Nanyang Normal University, and also a demonstration for the cultivation of international talents of knowing China, loving China and being friendly to China. This competition would further mobilize the enthusiasm and initiative of international students to learn Chinese culture, and further improve international students’ language ability and confidence for telling China’s stories well.
