On the morning of June 15, a delegation from the Avellino Conservatory of Music, Italy, visited our university. Both sides held a symposium in the conference room of the School of Music on the joint cultivation of music talents between China and Italy. Representatives from the International Office, the leadership team of the School of Music, and faculty members attended the meeting.

The Italian representatives, Angelo Gazzaneo and Marilena Laurenza, introduced the distinctive features of the Avellino Conservatory. As a renowned national music institution in Italy, it offers a complete educational system from bachelor’s to doctoral degrees, possesses dual-degree training channels recognized by the education ministries of both countries, and has extensive international experience. Ji Wei, Dean of the School of Music, introduced the school’s development history and educational strengths, emphasizing its comprehensive undergraduate and graduate discipline structure, which provides a solid foundation for international cooperation. Zhang Yaoyi, Director of the International Office, engaged in in-depth consultations with the Italian side on multi-level international cooperation pathways and project implementation procedures, considering the positioning of both institutions. The Italian side highly praised our university’s achievements in aesthetic education and the cultivation of music education talents, expressing their willingness to establish a long-term and stable cooperative relationship.

This symposium outlined a preliminary path for cooperation implementation, making a positive exploration for expanding international education and promoting Sino-Italian music education exchanges. Both sides reached a preliminary consensus on educational philosophies and talent cultivation models, laying the foundation for subsequent substantive cooperation such as faculty-student exchanges and joint training programs.
