Biochemistry and Molecular Biology was one of the first group of provincial key disciplines in our university in 2009. And it was listed again in the eighth group of provincial key disciplines in 2012. It has already been renowned home and abroad. Prof. Hui Lifeng, the discipline leader and expert member of Nanyang Science and Technology Bureau, works on research and development of biomass energy and bio-based products, microbiological basis and key technology in the process of agricultural biomass utilization. He has also carried out more than ten national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects, published more than forty research papers, participated in or editing three works, and got several prizes. He has been granted several honor titles, such as Outstanding Young Teacher in Henan Province and Outstanding Teacher in Nanyang.
Supported by laboratories, such as Henan Provincial College Engineering and Technological Research Center of Agricultural Biomass Utilization(2009), Henan Provincial Key Laboratory of Insect Biology(2009), and Nanyang Biomass Conversion Engineering Center, the subject owns a total lab area of 7,750 meters, a greenhouse of 500 meters, and 2,030 equipment worth sixteen million RMB. Part of the applied researches have been done under the cooperation with Pukang Group, Tianguan Group, and Shedian Group, which ensures the research achievements can be put into application and transformation.
