School of Life Science and Technology

About us:

The school of life science and technology develops from the biology department which was established in 1984 and was renamed as the School of Life Sciences and Technology in 2014.

Now there are forty three teachers in the school, including thirty-eight full-time teachers. Among them, one teacher is awarded specially-subsidized expert by the state council and is also the national candidate of New Century Talents Project, another one is the doctoral advisor. There are twelve master tutors, eleven professors and fifteen associated professors in this teaching team, and twenty three of them have doctoral degrees, four of them have the oversea study experience. In recent years, twenty national projects have been approved to be taken by the school, including seventeen national natural science fund projects, and many other provincial projects. Now the school provides two undergraduate programs----biological science and biological engineering. The biological science is the national characteristic program and the biological engineering is the key undergraduate program. In 2012, the school was approved to have the right to provide graduate program in the field of biological engineering. The biochemistry and molecular biology was approved to be the provincial key disciplines. In 2005, the school signed the contract with the Rothamsted research to set up the Sino-British joint Rothamsted laboratory in the university. At present there are three research institutions and one provincial science and technology innovation team in the school.
