School of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Nanyang Normal University was established in 2005. It currently incorporates five undergraduate programs: Urban and Rural Planning, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture and Water Science and Engineering, and a Sino-foreign educational cooperation program: Civil Engineering. SchoolofCivil Engineeringand Architecture is home to an excellent team. Now there are altogether 41 faculty members, of whom 36 are full-time teachers, including 6 with senior titles, 26 with intermediate title, and among them, 13 have the PhD or PhD candidate, 23 have master degree and 19 have national registered professional qualifications, such as National Registered HVAC Engineer, Registered Geotechnical Engineer, Registered Cost Engineer, Registered Supervision Engineer, Registered Consultant Engineer and so on. Now there are altogether five Teaching and research sections: Mechanics and Structure, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture and Water Supply and Sewerage Engineering. The school attaches importance to laboratory construction. There are Building Materials Laboratory, Civil Engineering Laboratory, Architectural CAD Laboratory, Measurement Laboratory, Architecture Physics Laboratory, Architecture Model Laboratory, Architectural Drawing Laboratory and other laboratories. The instruments and equipments are worth more than one thousand yuan. The main teaching and research area on campus is 2100 square meters. The laboratories meet the need of the experiment teaching for the majors of Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture and Water Supply and Sewerage Engineering, and provide ample experimental sites and equipments for the experimental courses teaching and the teachers’ scientific research.
School ofCivil Engineering and Architecture adheres to the teaching as the center by improving the course construction, emphasizing the quality cultivation of students and strengthening the teaching of practical skills. The graduates are familiar with the basic theory and basic knowledge of architecture, construction, management, architecture structure, decoration, real estate management, architectural design, urban planning, landscape architecture, and have strong technology application ability and practice ability. Students after graduation can carry on the works in the construction enterprise, water and electricity installation company, intermediary and consulting company, engineering supervision company, real estate development companies, design institutes, construction units, construction administrative departments and other units.
Since its founding in 2005, theCollegeofEngineeringhas made great strides in its teaching and scientific research. At this time, the number of students is more than 1200, students repeatedly got excellent results in Civil Engineering Structural Design Competition of Six Provinces in the Central South, the Challenge Cup Contest, the National College English Contest and other competitions. School attaches great importance to employment, and actively expand the employment market, and establish more than 20 internship employment bases for students with Henan Tiangong Group, Nanyang Architectural Design Institute and other units,. Graduate employment rate has been among the best ofNanyangNormalUniversity, reaching more than 95%, the Post-graduate Enrollment Rate is about 26%. College graduates work inBeijing,Shanghai,Guangdong,Zhejiang,Henanand other provinces. Graduates are welcomed by the society because of their integrity, comprehensive quality and ability to work, many of them have become the core employees in their own units and many graduates obtain professional qualification certificates, such as National Registered Engineers, Architects, National First-Class Construction Engineers, Supervision Engineers. They bear the key responsibilities in their own field.
School ofCivil Engineering and Architecture is home to an excellent team of faculty members who emphasize scientific research as well and have made gratifying achievements. Currently, the school has undertaken 3 national research projects in various fields of engineering, participated in or chaired 70 provincial or municipal natural science and planning projects, and published more than 200 academic papers, among which 73 papers are from EI and ISTP academic journals. With Civil Engineering Materials Laboratory, Civil Engineering Laboratory, Mechanics Laboratory, Measurement Laboratory, CAD Laboratory,SchoolofCivil Engineeringand Architecture has undertaken more than 10 education reform projects, 6 key support projects of Education Department of Henan Province, 10 research projects of Henan Provincial Science and Technology Department.
Currently, the whole staff establish the scientific development concept, advancing with the times, having the courage to innovate, sticking to teaching-based and academic supremacy ideas, shoulder the mission of universities and social trust, based on Nanyang, service the Central Plains, face the nation, and strive to build a distinctive, high level Practice-oriented teaching university, and to cultivate a group of innovative talents having both professional ability and moral integrity.

Undergraduate Programs
1.Water Supply and Sewerage Science and Engineering (BSc)
The students of this program should master basic theory, knowledge and skills of Water Supply and Sewerage Engineering. They will get basic training for engineers with the spirit of innovation and can be engaged in the planning, design, construction, management education, or undertake teaching and research work, or carry out application research, technology development, or management work in government department, planning department, economic management department, environmental protection department, design units, industrial and mining enterprises, scientific research institutions, colleges and in engineering-related fields.

2.Architecture
This program aims at cultivating top talents that are capable of solving problems using theoretical research, experimental analysis and numerical simulation methods. The professional training of the majors is to meet the needs of the socialist modernization of our country. Because of all-round development, solid foundation and wide range of knowledge, high comprehensive quality, graduates in this major may choose to continue their studies in Architecture and related interdisciplinary fields, or undertake architectural design, urban design, and interior design work with architect professional quality, the knowledge of architectural design, urban design, interior design and good professional skills, they can be engaged in design work in the design department. Graduates in this major mainly study basic theory and basic knowledge of architectural design, urban planning, landscape architecture. By the basic training of basic principle, process and method of architectural design, architecture and environment, comprehensive analysis and judgment, design expression, they get the preliminary pre-planning ability, architectural scheme design ability, comprehensive coordination ability, different design expression ability, computer application ability and foreign language ability.

3.Engineering Management
This program aims at cultivating compound senior engineering management talents that are capable of carrying out project decision-making and the management of the whole procession in the in the domestic and foreign civil engineering construction, real estate development and other related fields. Graduates in this major have basic theory of Civil Engineering Technology, Management Science, Laws and economics, and take the reins of the theory, method and means of modern management science.

This program aims at cultivating to train high-level technology-based and application-oriented professionals that are capable of all-round development and mastering the basic theory and knowledge of civil engineering disciplines. With the basic training of registered engineers, graduates in this major can undertake teaching and research work, or have the ability to carry out project planning, project survey, architectural design, project management and on-site construction in architectural design units, building construction units, building management unit and other related departments.
