On the morning of March 25, Professor Li Zhaoyang, a Doctoral Supervisor at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, was invited by the School of Fine Arts and Art Design to deliver an academic lecture titled Contemporary Cognition and Aesthetic Dimensions of Art Design in the Lecture Hall on the first floor of the Library. More than 200 faculty and student representatives from the School of Fine Arts and Art Design, including Dean Zhou Ziqiang, attended the event. The lecture was chaired by Vice Dean Chen Xuanrong.
During the lecture, Professor Li Zhaoyang discussed aesthetic issues in contemporary art design, the application of design in rural revitalization, and the transformation of contemporary design education from four dimensions: aesthetic concepts, rural revitalization, design innovation, and education and teaching, drawing on a large number of design cases. He advocated for the formation of a design value evaluation system with ecological ethics awareness through a “trinity” practical path of value cognition reconstruction, aesthetic paradigm innovation, and education and teaching iteration.
In the afternoon, Professor Li Zhaoyang held an academic seminar titled Discipline Construction and Scientific Research Innovation in Art and Design in the New Era in the conference room on the third floor of the School of Fine Arts and Art Design. Drawing on his own experience, he exchanged ideas with attending faculty on topics such as rural revitalization and migrant village construction, artificial intelligence and teaching reform, project application and academic cultivation, and national project applications.
The holding of the lecture and the seminar not only broadened the professional horizons of faculty and students but also played an important role in promoting the school’s design discipline construction, high-level project applications, and talent training model reform.
