Invited by the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Electrical Engineering, Professor Zhou Tianfeng from the School of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering at Beijing Institute of Technology gave a lecture on the topic Micro-Nano Optical Device Embossing Manufacturing Technology and Applications on April 12th. The report was presided over by Liu Wei, Dean of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Electrical Engineering, with the participation of Ma Shibang, the Party Committee Secretary of the School, and teachers and students from the School.

Professor Zhou Tianfeng introduced the basic principles of micro-nano optical device embossing manufacturing, as well as the innovative achievements of his team in this field, including nano-precision tool positioning technology, multi-frequency domain vibration cutting technology, micro-nano cutting-etching composite processing technology, and ultrasonic vibration-assisted embossing forming technology. On this basis, Professor Zhou elaborated in detail on the practical applications of micro-nano optical devices in systems such as detection guidance, optical imaging, laser projection, and laser light sources. The entire presentation was richly illustrated and easy to understand, introducing both cutting-edge academic achievements and examples of their industrial applications, fully demonstrating the unique advantages of engineering disciplines. During the interactive session, teachers and students asked questions one after another and Professor Zhou patiently answered each one. Everyone not only gained a deeper understanding of the micro-nano optical device embossing manufacturing technology but also expressed sincere admiration for Professor Zhou’s rigorous academic attitude and relentless spirit of exploration.

After the report, Professor Zhou had a discussion and exchange with some young teachers. He shared the application skills and precautions for the National Natural Science Foundation, based on his own experience in applying for and reviewing national scientific research projects, and also answered some questions and confusions of young teachers in the application of scientific research projects. The young teachers present expressed that they benefited a lot from the exchange with Professor Zhou.
