[Lecture] Story behind Notes of Yueyang Tower

Abstract: Fan Zhongyan, a historical novel written by Guo Baoping, was awarded the 2022 Influential Book of the Year by China Publishing and Media Business. To start with Notes on Yueyang Tower, Guo Baoping will talk about the reasons for writing Fan Zhongyan, analyze the relationship between Fan Zhongyan’s life experiences and the formation of his thoughts of sorrow and happiness as well as the writing process of Notes on Yueyang Tower in Dengzhou, and explain the historical and humanistic characteristics of the Northern Song Dynasty.

Introduction to the speaker: Guo Baoping, male, from Kaifeng, Henan Province. He is a writer of historical novels and a member of the Chinese Writers Association. He graduated from Renmin University of China, majoring in the history of China’s political system.
