On the morning of April 15, the 45th Sports Meeting of Nanyang Normal University opened at the Middle Campus Track and Field Stadium. University leaders Zhang Baofeng, Luo Yongsong, and others attended the opening ceremony, along with members of the 45th Sports Meeting Organizing Committee and heads of various units. Vice President Liu Jinjiang presided over the ceremony.

The opening ceremony began with the solemn national anthem. President Luo Yongsong delivered the opening speech. He pointed out that physical fitness is a crucial cornerstone for building a strong nation, and strengthening the body while cultivating character is a vivid practice of holistic education encompassing moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education. The university has always adhered to the principles of “educating through sports and enlightening through sports,” deeply exploring the multifaceted educational functions of sports competitions to promote the comprehensive development of students’ moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education. Many outstanding students have achieved remarkable results in high-level sports events such as the 15th National Games, showcasing the vibrant spirit of “Wolong” students. He encouraged all athletes to vigorously promote the sportsmanship of tenacity, solidarity, and striving upward, interpreting youth through hard work and forging broad shoulders and strong arms on the field. He hoped that all faculty and students would bring the fighting spirit, perseverance, and enterprise from the sports field into their work and study, striving to promote high-quality, connotative, and leapfrog development of the university, and to build a high-level normal university with a profound teacher-training foundation and distinctive application-oriented features. Finally, he wished the 45th Sports meeting a complete success.

Representatives of referees and athletes took oaths respectively.

It is reported that the Sports Meeting will last for three days, with more than 2,000 athletes participating. They are divided into five groups: Group A, Group B, Group C, Faculty Group, and Faculty Fun Group, competing in various events.
