To actively connect with leading domestic academic resources and deepen scientific research collaboration and talent cultivation exchanges, a delegation of young key faculty members from the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Electrical Engineering, led by Dean Liu Wei, recently conducted academic visits to several “Double First-Class” universities and national-level research institutes in Beijing and Wuhan.

In Beijing, the delegation visited the Beijing Artificial Intelligence Institute at Beijing University of Technology, the National Key Laboratory of Multimodal Artificial Intelligence Systems at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Defense Key Discipline Laboratory of Advanced Processing Technology at Beijing Institute of Technology. They held in-depth exchanges with research teams led by national-level high-level talents including Professor Qiao Junfei, Professor Wu Yihong, and Professor Zhou Tianfeng. Discussions focused on topics such as intelligent environmental protection, industrial internet, computer vision, and precision machining and manufacturing.

In Wuhan, the group visited the National Key Laboratory of Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment and Technology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The research team led by Professor Huang Yu, a national high-level talent, shared their latest achievements in laser processing and precision manufacturing, and shared valuable experiences regarding research team building and applications for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects. Subsequently, they also visited the teams of Professor Chen Tao at Wuhan University of Technology and Professor Zhang Guodong at Wuhan University, visiting relevant research laboratories in person and exchanging views on advanced manufacturing and equipment technology.

This academic visit served not only as a “learning journey” for our young faculty to broaden their academic perspectives and acquire advanced experience, but also as an “ice-breaking journey” for precise alignment and collaboration opportunities. These outstanding teams fully affirmed our university’s solid research foundation and significant development potential, expressing strong willingness to cooperate with NYNU in academic research, project applications, and talent cultivation. This activity has successfully built communication bridges between our university and top domestic research teams, injecting new momentum and vitality into the high-quality development of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Electrical Engineering in discipline construction, scientific innovation, and talent cultivation.
