On the morning of July 7, the opening ceremony of the 2023 International Youth Exchange Conference was held at the Shandong Hall. More than 1,000 guests and youth representatives from 85 countries and regions gathered at Qilu Land. Two students from NYNU, Hao Shuai from Pakistan and Li Qiang from Côte d’Ivoire, were invited to attend the conference.

Hao Shuai graduated from our university this year and has passed the postgraduate examination for international trade and is ready to embark on a new learning journey. Li Qiang, a sophomore majoring in business administration at the university, successfully passed the HSK5 test in May. On the 9th of June he acted as interpreter during the visit of Mr. Beheina, chargé d’affaires of the Central African Republic Embassy in Beijing, to our University. Li Qiang was also interviewed by reporters from China News Service during the afternoon session on June 7.

The congress was held in Shandong province from July 6 to 9, with the main venue in Jinan and sub-venues in Dezhou, Dongying, Jining and Tai’an, according to the report. It is co-sponsored by the Shandong provincial government, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the All-China Youth Federation and the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation. The annual theme is “New Era, New Civilization, New Youth, New Mission”. It mainly includes an opening ceremony, a main forum, parallel forums, youth-themed exhibitions, an international youth gala and visiting and exchange activities.
