Speakers’ Background and Brief Introduction:
Liu Changling, a renowned professor and doctoral supervisor, has long been engaged in the research field of novel agrochemicals’ creation and lead compounds’ discovery. He has published numerous monographs and over 50 SCI-covered papers. Professor Liu is so authoritative in the study of chemistry that he holds several relevant positions simultaneously, including Adjunct Professor at Nankai University and Zhengzhou University, Editor-in-Chief of the journal Agrochemicals, and Chief Engineer at Shenyang Research Institute of Chemical Industry, to name but a few. In addition, he has obtained more than 200 national patents of invention and won a great deal of honorary titles, such as the Seventh China Patent of Invention Gold Award, National Second Prize for Technical Innovation, and First Prize for Technical Innovation of Sinopec.
Professor Liu, along with his research team, pioneered in the Chinese formulation of novel agrochemicals up to FAO standard, which has strengthened the industrial status and international influence of China in the field. Moreover, they put forward the new technology of Intermediate Derivatization Method, which simplified the process of inventing new agrochemicals, improved the efficiency of discovering novel agrochemical candidates, and provided an effective approach to reducing the complexity of agrochemicals’ innovation.
