On the morning of October 19, Lee Run-gyu, President of Gyeonggi University in South Korea, and his delegation of four members visited NYNU and attended the second meeting of the Management Committee of Sino-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools of the two universities in 2023. The meeting was held in the conference room on the second floor of the Office Building. President Zhang Baofeng, Vice President Meng Jingya, and heads of relevant functional offices and Schools attended. The meeting was chaired by Meng Jingya.

Zhang Baofeng first welcomed the arrival of President Li Lungui and his delegation, and introduced the history of our university, the characteristics of disciplines, and foreign exchanges and cooperation. He said that Gyeonggi University is a well-known institution of higher learning in South Korea, and it has been the first and longest foreign inter-university exchange partner of our university in Korea for 19 years. At present, the two universities are solidly promoting the cooperative education projects at the junior college and undergraduate levels, and actively promote the cooperation between the two universities in terms of management, teacher-student exchanges and scientific research. He hoped to take this meeting as an opportunity to further expand and deepen the field of cooperation, innovate cooperation methods, and the relevant departments of the two universities should conscientiously implement the cooperation projects to achieve the goal of mutual benefit and win-win, quality and efficiency.

Lee Lun-gyu expressed his gratitude to our university for its warm reception. He recalled the development process of cooperation and exchanges between Gyeonggi University and our university, introduced the history, philosophy and development ideas of Gyeonggi University, and said that he was very interested in Chinese culture and looked forward to increasing mutual trust and common development through talks and cooperation between the two sides, and constantly promoting multi-level and multi-faceted exchanges and cooperation between the two universities to achieve win-win cooperation.

The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the deepening of cooperative education projects and in-depth exchanges between the two universities in various fields, enhanced mutual trust and understanding, reached a consensus on the next step of pragmatic cooperation, and signed the “Agreement on Student Exchange Program between Namyang Normal University and Gyeonggi University”.

Zhang Baofeng presented Li Lungui with a letter of appointment as an honorary professor of Nanyang Normal University.

Li Lungui and his entourage conducted field research on the professional laboratory of the cooperation project “Mechatronic Engineering”.
