Innovative Teams:

1. Innovative Technological Team on Insect Bio-reactor

Led by Prof. Kan Yunchao, Vice President, the team was approved in 2014. Supported by Henan Provincial Key Laboratory of Funiu Mountain Insect Biology and Henan Provincial Engineering Laboratory of Insect Bio-reactor, the team mainly works on silkworm insect bio-reactor and animal genetic engineering vaccine and diagnostic reagents. Achievements have been made in insect baculovirus expression system building and genetic engineering vaccine development. Until now, the team has set up fourteen national projects, over thirty provincial or local projects, published more than 120 advanced articles. The new multigene expression and efficient insect bioreactor development independently by the team has obtained three national patents.

2. Innovative Team of Advanced Material Design and Development of Henan Province

Led by Lu Zhiwen, Vice President, the team was approved in 2015. Based on the forefront of material science and basic material science application problems in construction of national economy, the team aims at developing new materials, a new generation of traditional materials and advanced preparation technology, giving priority to structural materials and functional materials.

3.Protection and Utilization of Agricultural Biological Resources in Climate Transition Zones in North and South China，an innovative team approved by Education of Henan Province

Approved in 2009, the team was led by Huang Siliang, the doctoral supervisor and candidate of New Century Talents Program organized by the Ministry of Education. Based on the unique geographical location advantages of Nanyang and combining the local producing reality, the team set up a general research direction: Protection and Utilization of Agricultural Biological Resources in Climate Transition Zones in North and South China, which contains three main areas: Biotechnological Research on Scientific Management and Utilization of Microorganisms, Protection and Utilization of Animal Resources in Climate Transition Zones in North and South China, Protection and Utilization of Plant Resources in Climate Transition Zones in North and South China.

The team members have published 201 articles including thirty SCI collected articles, three textbooks. They have undertaken fifteen national projects, eighteen ministerial programs, projects of Henan, eighty-eight other projects, and ten patents. Twenty one masters and doctors have graduated under the joint education of the team and other universities. 

4. Research on College Students’ Professional Skills and Post Docking Model, an innovative team approved by Education of Henan Province

Led by Song Zhenghui, the former Vice President, the team was approved in 2013. It is the first innovation team approved in the field of philosophical social science in the university. It aims at cultivating and founding a group of excellent philosophical social science research teams with strong innovation abilities, stable faculty, reasonable structure, open and cooperative minds. Thus it will promote the innovation abilities and competitiveness in philosophical social science in colleges in Henan, drive discipline and academic degree awarding unit construction, and increase abilities of all the colleges in Henan to develop harmoniously and sustainably and to serve for the economic and social development.
