The base is one of the seven folk art research
bases set up by the Ministry of Culture. Founded in 2009, it consists of four
institutes: Institute of Quyi Inheritance and Protection, Institute of Quyi
History, Institute of Quyi Music, and Institute of Folk Songs in Ming and Qing
Dynasties.
The base has 21 researchers, including 12
professors, 7 assistant professors, 9 doctors, and 9 masters. Among the 9
part-time members, some are famous experts in intangible culture research in
China.
