
On the afternoon of October 31, 2024, Professor Fu Long from Communication University of China was invited to give an academic lecture titled “Concepts and Practices of Film and Television Sound Art” in the lecture hall on the first floor of the West District Library. This lecture was presided over by Li Juanhong, dean of the School of Journalism and Communication.
During the lecture, Professor Fu Long explored the functions and formative effects of sound elements in film and television. He first carried out a detailed analysis of the concept of film and television sound, then discussed the construction of film and television sound creation teams, and through the case analysis of the film and television sound recording process, he helped the audience establish the concept of sound aesthetics, enabling them to understand and appreciate the art of film and television sound more profoundly. Professor Fu’s explanations made the complex concepts of film and television sound art easy to understand. The teachers and students present gained a deeper understanding of the art of film and television sound and had a clearer direction on how to apply these theories to practice.
After the lecture, Professor Fu Long went to the conference room of the School of Journalism and Communication and had a discussion with the teachers. The meeting was presided over by Wang Chunxu, the secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Journalism and Communication. Both sides discussed issues such as the development of art disciplines, the empowerment of artificial intelligence, the experience of postgraduate cultivation, and the application of new-quality productive forces in teaching. The teachers had new and deeper reflections on the cultivation of applied talents and the employment prospects of media-major students.
