On the afternoon of September 12, Professor Zhang Yong of Xiamen University was invited to give an academic report for the teachers and students of the School of Chemistry and Pharmacy Engineering of NYNU. The report was presided over by Qiu Dongfang, dean of the School. Xie Haiquan, director of the Office of Educational Administration of the University, attended the meeting, together with other leaders, representatives of teachers and graduate students of the School.

With the title of Environmental Monitoring Capacity Construction and Innovation under the New Situation, Professor Zhang Yong aimed at the national needs, focused on the problem of lagging capacity building in environmental monitoring, and elaborated on some in-situ and visual research methods established by the research group based on new instruments in recent years, as well as the research progress made in the establishment of new environmental standards. After the meeting, Professor Zhang Yong gave detailed answers to the questions raised by the teachers and students.

Professor Zhang Yong’s enthusiastic academic report, rigorous and pragmatic academic spirit deeply infected the teachers and students attending the meeting. This report points out a new direction for the future academic research of teachers and students, and plays an important role in improving the academic research level of teachers and students and promoting the development of the discipline.
