On the afternoon of December 2, invited by School of Arts and Design of NYNU, Professor Wang Qingbin, dean of School of Arts and Design of Henan University of Technology, delivered a special report online, entitled Research and Practice of Professional Construction of Design Discipline under the construction of “Design Henan”. Teachers and students from School of Arts and Design, School of Jewelry and Jade Carvings and representatives of Nanyang Design circle attended the meeting. Before the report, Geng Yaojing, secretary of the Party Committee of School of Arts and Design, and Xu Yongbin, dean of School of Jewelry and Jade Carvings, delivered welcome speeches respectively. The meeting was hosted by Chen Xuanrong, vice dean of School of Arts and Design.

Professor Qingbin analyzed in his report the origin and construction situations of “Design Henan”, designing related theories and policies, designing experience and development trends in the industry at home and abroad, and medium and long-term planning policy interpretation of “Design Henan”, and professional disciplines construction under the “Design Henan” construction. He also discussed key issues and countermeasures related to the professional construction of design disciplines in colleges in the action plan of Design Henan. Professor Wang Qingbin’s academic report provides helpful guidance for us to understand the development strategy of “Design Henan” and participate in designing Nanyang construction.
