[Lecture] Study the Research Methods of the Thought History of Classical Writers and Understand the Modern Society Scientifically

Introduction to the report: This lecture takes the typological research method of the socialist literature history of The Communist Manifesto and the genealogical criticism method of the surplus value theory of Capital as a model, aiming to show that Marxism in the 21st century must adhere to the principle of scientific epistemology from abstract to concrete, guided by the production mode theory of historical materialism and the class division method. In the process of deeply grasping the new changes, contradictions and problems of contemporary capitalism, we should promote the understanding of the advanced nature of scientific socialism.

About the Speaker: Liu Huaiyu, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Philosophy, Nanjing University, deputy director and researcher of the Marxist Social Theory Research Center, part-time professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Marxism, Renmin University of China. He has been mainly engaged in teaching and research in the history of Marxist philosophy and Western Marxist political and social theories.
