[Lecture] Mathematics, Your Best Choice

Abstract: This report briefly describes the importance of mathematics in real life and the three crises that have advanced it. It extends from “paradox ---- proof by contradiction ---- logic” to the important Goldbach Conjecture in the number theory and focuses on the important contribution of the famous Chinese mathematician Chen Jingru in the Goldbach Conjecture.
Introduction to the speaker: Shang Youlin, professor, PhD supervisor, dean of the Institute of Operations Research and Big Data at Henan University of Science and Technology. He has been engaged in the study of optimization theory, algorithms and their applications. He has made many research achievements in the fields of nonlinear programming, global optimization and systems engineering, and has published more than 150 papers in domestic and foreign journals, one monograph and edited four textbooks.
